ResumeRoast · Last updated 6 August 2026

Your resume is not stored. It's sent to the server, used to generate your feedback, and discarded. There are no accounts, no tracking across sites, no advertising, and nothing is sold to anyone.

What happens to your document

When you paste text or upload a file, the contents are sent over an encrypted connection to the ResumeRoast server and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude API, which generates the feedback. The text is held in memory only for as long as that request takes.

If you upload a file rather than pasting text, the file is written to a temporary location on the server so its text can be extracted, and is deleted as soon as the request finishes — including when the request fails.

Your document is never written to a database, never used to train any model, and never shared with anyone other than the processor named above.

What is kept

Aggregate counts — how many page views, roasts, and rebuilds have happened, broken down by day. These are numbers only, with no link to any person or document.
An approximate visitor count — your IP address is combined with a random secret and turned into a short irreversible hash, purely so repeat visits in the same day aren't counted twice. The secret is regenerated whenever the server restarts, and your raw IP address is never written to storage.
Where visitors came from — the hostname of the referring site (for example, a link posted on a forum), so it's possible to tell which links people actually used. No individual is identified.

Roasts you choose to share

If — and only if — you tap Share this roast, the feedback is saved so the link works for whoever you send it to. That feedback quotes parts of your document, so please only share it if you're comfortable with those quotes being readable by anyone who has the link.

Nothing is saved unless you tap that button, links are unlisted rather than searchable, and older shared roasts are deleted automatically over time. If you want one removed sooner, email the address below with the link.

Who else is involved

Anthropic — provides the Claude model that writes the feedback.
Railway — hosts the server.

There are no advertising networks, no third-party analytics services, and no social media trackers. The app and site set no advertising identifiers and do not follow you to other sites.

The iOS app

The ResumeRoast iOS app talks to this same service and behaves identically. It requires no account and requests no access to your contacts, photos, location, camera, or microphone. When you pick a file — or send one in through the system share sheet — that document is used for the request and nothing else.

Children

ResumeRoast is intended for people looking for work and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices

Because there is no account and nothing is stored against your identity, there is no profile to export or delete. If you shared a roast and want it taken down, or you have any question about this policy, email aryamanravi09@gmail.com and it will be handled.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what happens to your document, the date at the top of this page will change and the updated policy will be posted here.
